Pink Portraits 2024: Winner Announced

The organisers of the Cardiff-based Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival are thrilled to announce that the Pink Portraits will return this year, in collaboration with Ffotogallery and Transport for Wales.Pink Portraits 2024 will showcase 10 photographs taken by south Wales-based Sarah Scorey of LGBTQ+ professionals working for Transport for Wales. Sarah Scorey said: “I’m extremely thankful and grateful to have been picked for this amazing opportunity to photograph some of Transport For Wales’ LGBTQ+ staff members as part of Pink Portraits 2024. Photography has been a source of empowerment for me, so I’m really looking forward to using photography as a tool of empowerment and seeing what we create!”

Siân Addicott, Director of Ffotogallery, said: “We are thrilled at Ffotogallery to be working with Sarah Scorey and Iris for this year's Pink Portraits commission in collaboration with Transport for Wales. Sarah's application stood out in terms of its creativity and personal style, alongside her connection with the LGBTQ+ community. We are excited to see the new portraits as the project develops.”

Pink Portraits 2024 will be displayed across Wales during Pride Month (June) in public spaces. The project is produced by the Iris Prize Festival in partnership with Ffotogallery and Transport for Wales.

Marie Daly, Chief Customer and Culture Officer, Transport for Wales said: “We’re a proudly inclusive organisation and I’m delighted that Transport for Wales is collaborating on Pink Portraits 2024. We’re excited to be part of this project and to have the opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ colleagues from right across our organisation. We’ve had a great response to our partnership from our colleagues already, and I’m looking forward to seeing the portraits.”

Grant Vidgen, Iris Prize Festival Manager, added: “Working with Transport for Wales allows us to have a profile in the community we exist in; a relationship with the community. We look forward to sharing with you the names of the sitters, along with the locations of the portraits.”
