Helpu Cymru, Suzie Larke
galvanize showcases a series of inspiring surreal, creative portraits by Suzie Larke. Featuring men from Wales who have faced and are overcoming mental health challenges and are eager to share their journeys with others.
Accompanying each image is a QR code that links to a video in which the men share their personal experiences and directs viewers to the helpu.org.uk hub, which provides listings of support groups, events, help and advice and organisations for men's mental wellbeing throughout Wales.
galvanize is an installation exhibition created as a collaboration between Helpu Cymru, For Cardiff and photographer Suzie Larke. Ffotogallery are proud to include this work as a part of Ffoto Cymru 24 International Photography Festival. Many thanks to the management at Newport Market for their support in this exhibition.

Suzie Larke is a visual artist and photographer based in Cardiff, UK. Graduating with a degree in photography in 2002, she’s since worked internationally as a commercial and portrait photographer. Her fine art photography explores themes of identity, emotion, and mental wellbeing.
Suzie’s interested in representing an internal state rather than capturing a moment in time. She creates images that challenge our notion of reality – combining photographs to create an image that defies logic.
