Join us on Saturday 12th April 2025, 2:30pm - 4:30 pm, at Ffotogallery, for an inspiring afternoon of dialogue with the artist and contributors behind Belongers : Chagossian Identity Explored. Audrey Albert, Chrisyl Wong-Hang-Sun, Ellianne Baptiste, and Charlie Bird come together to discuss the themes and stories that shape this powerful exhibition.

Belongers celebrates the multiplicity of Chagossian identities, shedding light on a community long overlooked and displaced. The exhibition, developed over two years as part of the IWM 14-18 Legacy Commissions, features intimate portraiture, moving-image work and cyanotypes, all reflecting the resilience and creativity of a diasporic nation.

During this event, the artists will delve into how their work navigates themes of self-representation, heritage, and belonging in countries that have never truly been “home” and discuss what it means to 'belong' to a land one has never set foot on. They’ll share insights into the creative process and the historical and personal narratives that inspired their work.

This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artists, explore the intersections of art and identity, and deepen your understanding of the Chagossian community’s fight for visibility and justice.

Don’t miss this compelling conversation at the crossroads of art and identity. Reserve your spot today!
