Amateur Photographer Magazine are delighted to announce the first-ever Student Roadshow in collaboration with the University of South Wales, in partnership with Canon. Dr Natasha Hirst will lead a discussion on disability representation in photography and how images shape narratives about minoritised communities.
Fireside Chat: Four Artistic Responses to Welsh Archives
The University of South Wales invites you to a ‘fireside’-style chat, in which the four commissioned artists converse with each other and with documentary photography lecturer Karin Bareman about their artist practice, about the work they have created in response to the commission, but more importantly, about those partially obscured stories encountered in their chosen archives and lovingly rescued from oblivion.
Feminist Library: Dr Alix Beeston
Featuring an informal talk and a creative writing workshop, this session will give participants an opportunity to explore and practise feminist ways of seeing, thinking, and writing about photographs.

Learn how to develop your own film in the darkroom at Ffoto Newport.
Collage Making Workshop
Julieta Anaut, Luiza Possamai Kons and Lorena Marchetti will lead on an afternoon of discussion and creative collage-making workshops exploring some of the themes raised in the exhibition.
Sustainable Photography Darkroom Workshops
The workshops will explore mixing your own chemicals to process silver prints. mixing developer and fixer. Using different organic compounds to explore the printing process, all will be done under red light conditions in a darkroom.
