Weekly Digest - 11/5/20

Welcome to the seventh edition of Ffotogallery’s weekly digest! Whilst our offices and gallery are closed, we’re still busy working from home to bring you the latest updates, including creative activities you can take part in at home, resources you can browse online, and we’ll be sharing what arts organisations further afield have on offer.

Many Voices, One Nation Goes Online

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak the final exhibition of the Many Voices, One Nation tour, which was due to open this week at Galeri Caernarfon, has unfortunately had to be cancelled. In the absence of a physical exhibition, we’ve been working with our partners at Welsh Parliament to bring the exhibition to you at home, by featuring the work of all six commissioned artists on our Ffotoview platform. Find out more about the project here, and click below to visit Ffotoview.

Competition Time

Congratulations to last week’s winner of our #collage photo competition, Thomas Pyner (@thomaspyner)! Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to send in their entries.

The theme for this week’s competition is archive. This week we’re taking inspiration from photographic duo Luce + Harry, who’s project for Many Voices, One Nation uses a combination of new media, photography and archival materials to present a narrative that reflects the experiences of Hungarian and Eritrean migrants in Wales. Have a dig through your old family photos, or maybe you have a collection of ‘found’ photographs you’d like to share with us – the older the better!
